The Liquid Facelift – Injecting the Right Procedures and A Good Dose of Expertise

November 4, 2020

The ancient Greeks coined the term cosmetics – or kosmetikos – but unlike our forefathers the modern-day woman is not turning to lead or chalk powder to beautify the complexion. Nor, are we following in the footsteps of Cleopatra and bathing in sour milk. Instead today we’re reaching for liquids of a different sort to cull back the years. You may have heard the term ‘liquid facelift’ tossed about on social media feeds – after all, cosmetic surgery and injectable procedures are firmly ensconced in our cultural conversation. So, what exactly is a ‘liquid lift’ – and more importantly how is a liquid lift destined to fit your facial needs!?

Firstly, a liquid facelift refers to a combination of injectable procedures – non-surgicals – to address some of the issues associated with aging – think volume or the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. And, all minus surgery and post-recovery downtime – think timely lunchtime procedures that don’t cost the earth but are destined to rejuvenate and enhance your natural beauty.

However, like any cosmetic or plastic surgery procedure, not all liquid facelifts are created equal. There is a myriad of combinations that can work in together to smooth, soften, lift and target certain problem areas. This is why it’s essential you choose the correct procedures that’re unique to your individual facial goals. And, even more importantly you opt for a qualified and experienced cosmetic surgeon to direct you the best way forward.

So, what are some of the most common problems a liquid facelift will address?

Lines on your forehead, around your eyes – crow’s feet, nose, upper and lower lip, nasolabial lines.
Sagging brow lines, corners of your mouth and jawline.
Loss of volume in your temples, under your eyes or in your cheeks or lips.
And, whilst there are more than several options for both wrinkle reducers and fillers, common products include: Botox to reduce wrinkles and hyaluronic acid-based fillers to fill, volumize and soften, BELKYRA injections to permanently remove fat in the chin area.

Before embarking on liquid facelift journey, knowing the boundaries of what injectables will and won’t do is essential – as well as sticking to a complete individual treatment programme for you alone. Why? Because our skin is unique to us, what’s worked for your best friend may be the wrong choice for you.

What we should also remember as with any injectable treatments, is their life span and their limitations. Liquid facelifts don’t have unlimited potential – they require maintenance, and are designed to give you a boost – enhance, smoothen and soften – not radically transform your face. If you have jowls or loose excess skin on your face and neck, fillers can't ‘fix’ those completely.

Also, remember that your liquid facelift is only as good as the cosmetic surgeon administering your injectables. Choose an inexperienced, unqualified and untrained administered, your results could puff out and your facial definition look completely unnatural. So, ensure you consult with a qualified cosmetic surgeon – like our very own Adam Bialostocki – who has extensive training in all cosmetic procedures.
